Pain Management

Nobody should have to be in pain whether they have two legs or four!

Dogs, cats and pocket pets don't express pain the way we might expect them to.  Pet parents may mistakenly assume their pet isn't painful, just because the pet isn't vocalizing or limping.  Its a priority for us that our patient's pain, whether acute or chronic, be adequately managed.  Our doctors approach pain management by first assessing the location and the level of pain that the patient is experiencing.  Medications are then used to mediate different pain pathways, thus improving the patient's overall level of comfort and quality of life.  Blood tests help our veterinarians determine which medications are the safest in each particular patient and at what doses. Our Class IV Companion Therapy Laser applications result in decreased inflammation, decreased pain, and accelerated healing by targeting specific tissue with a sufficient dose of light energy.  This relaxing and non-invasive treatment modality can provide benefit in reducing pain associated with various illnesses or injuries
